The St. Louis Cardinals used the hitting of first baseman Lars Nootbaar to subdue the Miami Marlins, 4-2. For the game, Nootbaar went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. JoJo Romero closed out the game, earning his 8th save. The Cardinals now have a record of 16-20 with the win over Miami.

Nootbaar had a key at-bat for St. Louis in the top of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave St. Louis an early 2-0 lead.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Nootbaar.
