Streaking Cubs Win Another One, 7-1
|
The Cincinnati Reds had to reckon with Chicago Cubs hurler Cade Horton. Horton, who is tied for 7th in the NL with a 1.08 WHIP, overwhelmed the opposition in the 7-1 Cubs triumph. In 6.2 innings, Horton surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Reed Garrett earned the save for Chicago.
The Cubs got a big at-bat from catcher Miguel Amaya. For the game, Amaya was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-1 lead.
When asked about his performance after the game, Amaya said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
