St. Louis Cardinals starter Matthew Liberatore turned in an exceptional performance against the Atlanta Braves at Busch Stadium, resulting in a St. Louis win, 3-0. The winning pitcher was Liberatore, now 7-2. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Mason Burns earned his 19th save in 22 chances.

The Cardinals had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 3-0, St. Louis, with two out. Atlanta, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Matt Olson dug in at the plate, but on a 2-0 fastball, he popped out.

The Cardinals win now puts them at 34-48.
