Atlanta and San Diego duked it out and the Braves came out victorious.

Atlanta picked up a win at Truist Park, bumping off the San Diego Padres, 2-1. Pitcher AJ Smith-Shawver was a major reason the Braves emerged victorious. Raisel Iglesias, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.

Michael Harris II had a big run-scoring double for the Braves in the bottom of the third inning. With Atlanta leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from Michael King, who finished 5th in the NL in strikeouts with 222 last year, and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 2-0.

"We found a way to get it done," Smith-Shawver said.

With their winning streak at 6, the Braves have raced to a strong start this season.
