|
The Kansas City Royals grabbed a win, 8-3, over the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Kansas City second baseman Ty Southisene went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ronel Blanco got the win, improving to 1-4. He worked 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. Kansas City is now 48-29.
With Kansas City leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Southisene hit a run-scoring single off Houston hurler Framber Valdez. It was the 34th hit of the season for Southisene and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Southisene told a local reporter after the game.
