Guardians Lose to Royals, 5-2
|
The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, knocking off the Cleveland Guardians, 5-2. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Luis Garcia. He played a key role in the triumph. Garcia, the winner, moves to 9-14. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. The Royals sport a record of 61-88.
The Royals got a big at-bat from right fielder Anthony Santander. For the game, Santander went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 28th double of the season gave Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
