Blue Jays Win, 6-4, in 10
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at T-Mobile Park, knocking off the Seattle Mariners, 6-4, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Bowden Francis played a key role in the triumph. Connor Cooke notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 8-6. The Blue Jays, now 78-73, have won 6 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Hyo-jong Yang? The 23-year old right fielder Yang stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put Toronto up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Bowden was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Toronto manager John Schneider.
