Diamondbacks Win, 5-1
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks picked up a win at Oracle Park, defeating the San Francisco Giants, 5-1. Starting pitcher Shota Imanaga was an essential part of his team's success. Imanaga, now 8-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Diamondbacks, at 34-26, sit in third place in the National League West Division.
Jordan Lawlar provided a timely hit. The Arizona shortstop delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
Said losing manager Stephen Vogt: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
