The Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox will take the Division Series to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Red Sox shut out the White Sox, 7-0, at Fenway Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Boston right-hander Kutter Crawford did his part. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball.

With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Ceddanne Rafaela barreled up a sinker from David Peterson. The result was a grand slam home run, putting the Red Sox in front, 5-0.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Crawford said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 8th , 2026 at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago.
