Cincinnati Takes Wildcard Series in Deciding Game
|
Depending on your loyalties, the Wildcard Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking.
The series went down to its final game, with the Cincinnati Reds and the Washington Nationals giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Reds came out on top, winning 7-5 at Great American Ball Park today to take the series 2-1.
"We're lucky to be going into the Division Series," said Cincinnati pitcher TJ Friedl. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason."
Friedl earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .500 average, with 2 home runs, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored.
The Cincinnati Reds will play against the Philadelphia Phillies in the next round. Philadelphia had a bye in the Wildcard Series. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 1st , 2026.
