Red Sox Prevail, as Wildcard Series Goes to the Wire
The Boston Red Sox were paced by a strong offensive output from Jarren Duran as they downed the Texas Rangers 2-1 to win the Wildcard Series.

Boston won the final game by a score of 8-4 at Globe Life Field to send themselves off to the Division Series.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said center fielder Duran, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .467 with a .467 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Boston Red Sox will play against the Chicago White Sox in the next round. Chicago had a bye in the Wildcard Series. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 1st , 2026.
