Wildcard Series Game 1 Victory for deGrom and Texas
The Texas Rangers powered past the visiting Boston Red Sox, 5-4, in the opener of the Wildcard Series at Globe Life Field. Texas starting pitcher Jacob deGrom threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Rangers now lead the series 1-0.

Aaron Judge, who finished 2nd in the AL in RBI with 114 in 2017, helped out the Texas cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk.

"Jacob was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Texas manager Willie Harris.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
