Jose Pena said his Bowling Green Hot Rods simply weren't ready for the season to come to an end.

"We told ourselves we were winning this series no matter what," he said, shortly after being named the Round 1 MVP, following a 9-5 win at Fluor Field at the West End that officially eliminated the Greenville Drive, 4-2.

Pena said his team is "confident and ready" for the Round 2.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods will play against the Aberdeen Ironbirds in the next round. Aberdeen won their series against the Brooklyn Cyclones 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
