Thomas Szapucki pitched a gem to lead Colorado to victory over the Houston Astros, 4-0. The winner was Szapucki. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Mitch Keller. Picking up the save was Victor Vodnik. He's now 21 for 24 in save chances.

Hunter Goodman had a big 2-run double for the Rockies in the bottom of the third inning. With Colorado leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from Mitch Keller, who finished 3rd in the NL in innings pitched with 193.2 in 2024, and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 3-0.

"Thomas was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Colorado manager Buck Showalter.

The Rockies improved their record to 40-36 by beating Houston.
