Blue Jays Win Streak Reaches 10
|
Ricky Tiedemann, who finished 4th in the AL in wins with 16 last year, imposed his will on the Athletics from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 Toronto triumph. Mason Fluharty was credited with the save, his 12th in 17 tries. With the win, the Blue Jays sit at 82-73.
Hyo-jong Yang had a big solo home run for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Toronto leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Dalton Pence and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0.
"I like our clubhouse vibe," said Toronto manager John Schneider.
