Brady Singer never let Pittsburgh get something going. The Chicago right-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Cubs to a 5-1 win. The win gives Chicago a season record of 34-25.

The Cubs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Michael Busch. For the game, Busch was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Busch.
