Rays Win, 6-3, at Toronto

Willy Adames did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Toronto Blue Jays from being beaten, 6-3, to the Tampa Bay Rays at Rogers Centre. Adames was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Drew Rasmussen. He tossed 87 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. Garrett Cleavinger closed it out for Tampa Bay, earning his 4th save.
Tampa Bay used a well-timed hit by Carson Williams to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rays ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Williams told the Tampa Bay Gazette.
Tampa Bay currently is in second place in the American League East Division at 32-18.
