Late Rally by Cubs Seals 4th Straight Win
|
The Chicago Cubs got a good effort from starter Justin Steele in defeating the Cleveland Guardians at Wrigley Field. The final score was 4-1. Chicago reliever Yenrri Rojas picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Mason Miller was tagged with the loss. Luke Little closed the game out for Chicago, earning his 16th save.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Owen Caissie came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cleveland pitcher Jackson Ferris, he hit a 1-0 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 2-1.
"Justin mixed and matched," said Chicago manager Dave Willman.
Chicago has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
