Colop Gets #300
Monday, July 1st , 2069
Indianapolis's 6-5 victory over Columbus was highlighted by Reynaldo Colop's 300th career home run. His teammates congratulated him at home plate after he circled the bases.
"I didn't see all of them out there," Colop said with a chuckle, "until I rounded third base." He added sheepishly: "It was only a home run. It's not like I won us a World Series!"
In 4 at-bats the Indians right fielder collected 2 hits in his historic game, scored 2 runs, and had 4 RBI.
Colop has played in 2140 games and posted a lifetime .240 average. He has 1795 hits, 277 doubles, 88 triples and 301 homers. In addition he has driven in 881 runs and scored 1093 times.
