Wildwood Triumphs in Walt Partlo Memorial Cup

The Wildwood Fishers ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Columbus Red Birds 7-2 to win the Walt Partlo Memorial Cup.
Wildwood won the series 4-1, capturing the title for the 13th time.
"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Wildwood manager Scott Smith. "It's a great feeling."
The champs finished the regular season 100-62 and claimed second place in the To The Wall Baseball Nationalist League.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and shortstop Gilberto Romano said the Fishers have "great fans and they deserve this."
"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
