Collins Blasts Fishers, Shamrocks Take Game 1, 8-3
The Letterkenny Shamrocks started the Walt Partlo Memorial Cup in style, winning on the road against the Wildwood Fishers at Carp Coliseum by a score of 8-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Shamrocks left fielder Paul Collins excelled. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice.

With the game tied, 1-1, in the top of the fifth, Collins had a key at-bat for Letterkenny. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Collins hit a 3-run home run off Logan Drake, making the score 4-1, Shamrocks.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Collins.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Carp Coliseum in Wildwood.
