Red Birds Heading to Alexander Hamilton Cup
The Columbus Red Birds were paced by a strong offensive output from Ramón Gonzáles as they downed the Nashville Nightmare 2-1 to win the Sam Adams Mug.

Columbus won the final game by a score of 5-0 at Ricardo Lopez Field to send themselves off to the Alexander Hamilton Cup.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said third baseman Gonzáles, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .222 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Columbus Red Birds will play against the Asheville Boomsticks in the next round. Asheville had a bye in the Sam Adams Mug. The Alexander Hamilton Cup schedule will be announced after the Sam Adams Mug finishes.
