Mal Boles was locked in. The right-hander led the Great Black Swamp Mud Hens to a 6-5 win against the Reykjavik Phoenix at Flaming Ashes Ballpark. The Mud Hens now have a record of 64-98.

Jim Benson drove in one run for Great Black Swamp. The 26-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Héctor Cantú. It was his 39th RBI of the season.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Reykjavik manager Arthur Ecklund. "But we decided not to take it."
