Wicker Park Slaps 2-1 Loss on Growlers
The Grand Rapids Growlers and Wicker Park Devil Cats provided some drama for the home crowd.

Lucas Parsons pitched well, but the Grand Rapids Growlers still lost the game, falling 2-1 to the Wicker Park Devil Cats at Fission Field. Wicker Park pitcher Stephen Thomas got the win, upping his record to 6-3. Lucas Parsons got the loss.

The Growlers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Devil Cats going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the nine-time All-Star Luis Gonzáles came to the plate. Gonzáles hit a solo home run on a full count fastball from Grand Rapids hurler Lucas Parsons. It was Gonzáles's 6th home run of the year.

"We put together a nice win," Gonzáles said.

With the victory, the Devil Cats upped their record to 94-65.
