Brawlers Use Late Score to Top Drifters, 3-2
|
Dam Site got a big-time effort from pitcher Fernando Bernal, but it wasn't enough to keep the B.C. Brawlers from winning the game, 3-2. Bernal threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Michael Brown picked up the save for B.C., his 1st of the year. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Dam Site.
Had Bobby Williams not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Williams hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Brawlers.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Dam Site manager Andy Evans. "We just didn't cash in."
