Stalkers Come Up Short at Nashville, 3-2
|
The Nashville Nightmare took Iowa City pitcher Tommy Crosby's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Flaming Ashes Ballpark. The final score had Nashville getting past the Stalkers, 3-2. Crosby went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. The 6th-place Nightmare have a record of 74-65.
Had Charles Brady not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Brady hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Nightmare.
"The other side played a good game," said Iowa City manager Mark Sands. "You tip your cap to them."
