House of Brews Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
The Newcastle House of Brews defeated the Motown Hitmakers, 3-2, in To The Wall Baseball action at Brewhouse. Newcastle pitcher Niko Sarpaneva had a standout performance. Newcastle reliever Niko Sarpaneva got the win, raising his record to 5-6. Jorge García was tagged with the loss. The win has Newcastle at 50-85.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 32-year old left fielder Eduardo Vélez had a real shot to win the game. Motown pitcher Jorge García was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Vélez hit a run-scoring single. The House of Brews had a walk-off triumph.
"This house was rockin'," Sarpaneva said.
