The Letterkenny Shamrocks took on the Iowa City Stalkers at Letterkenny Memorial Ballpark.

Letterkenny Shamrocks starter Dookie Daniels led his team to victory over the Iowa City Stalkers, 9-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Daniels yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 11. His record improves to 7-10.

Eduardo Vélez had a big 3-run home run for the Shamrocks in the bottom of the first inning. With Letterkenny trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Kris Abrams, who is on pace for 208 strikeouts this season, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Shamrocks on top, 3-2.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Iowa City skipper Mark Sands.

The Shamrocks win now puts them at 50-71.
