Renegades Drop Nightmare, 4-3, with Late Score

Though he had a stellar game, Howard Perkins could not prevent his team, the Nashville Nightmare, from losing, 4-3, to the Texas Renegades. Perkins was 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jesús Chávez picked up the win in relief for Texas, while Keiji Nakashima took the loss. Mark Doyle locked down his 7th save.
Had Wan-fu Shui not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Shui hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Renegades.
"We were the better team," crowed Shui.
At 52-68, the Renegades find themselves in 5th place in the To The Wall Baseball Patriotic League.
