Great Black Swamp used a superb performance from starting pitcher Cordell Wood to down the Asheville Boomsticks, 4-0. Wood yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-10. At 46-64, the Mud Hens claim 8th place in the To The Wall Baseball Patriotic League.

Great Black Swamp used a timely hit from Brendan Snider to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mud Hens ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Wood told a Great Black Swamp Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
