Hitmakers Lose to Phoenix, 4-3

Both teams had their chances, but the Reykjavik Phoenix eventually prevailed.
The inspired effort of Motown shortstop Lúcio Herrera was not enough to prevent a loss, 4-3, to the Reykjavik Phoenix. Herrera was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win, Reykjavik raised its record to 57-51.
Delivering for the home team was four-time All-Star Charles Risberg. In the bottom of the sixth, the veteran designated hitter had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Phoenix.
"I like what I saw today," said Reykjavik manager Arthur Ecklund, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
