Dam Site and Phoenix took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Dam Site turned a good performance from starting pitcher Rick Honeycutt into a 3-2 triumph over the Phoenix Downs at Superior Stadium. Honeycutt, the winner, moves to 12-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk.
Eduardo Burgos helped out the Dam Site cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder went 2-4 with a double.
"Rick was Rick," said Drifters manager Andy Evans. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
After today's action, Dam Site sits at 58-49; Phoenix slips to 39-65.
