The Columbus Red Birds had to overcome a good performance from Great Black Swamp pitcher Jason Foster to claim a 3-2 win at Ricardo Lopez Field. Foster went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Columbus's record now stands at 63-38, placing them first in the To The Wall Baseball Patriotic League.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Columbus trailing 2-1, Scott Ward jumped on a full count fastball from José Ramos for a 2-run home run, sending the Red Birds to a walk-off win.

Ward called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
