The Animal Shelter was the site of a competitive game between the Ypsi Yard Cats and Columbus Red Birds.

Columbus starter Bobby Hatcher pitched well against the Ypsi Yard Cats at The Animal Shelter. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Hatcher yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-7. Yosai Kato recorded his 12th save for Columbus.

Columbus shortstop Mario Salgado contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 71st hit of the season and put the Red Birds ahead, 5-1.
