The Texas Renegades converted a terrific effort from starter Fernando Méndez into a win over the Nashville Nightmare at Flaming Ashes Ballpark. The Renegades won the game by a final score of 8-1. Méndez got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 1 hit and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Texas is now 45-51, while Nashville is 53-43.

Wan-fu Shui helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Texas a 2-0 lead.

"Fernando throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Texas manager Todd Newcomer.
