Drifters Win at Nashville, 7-3
|
The Dam Site Drifters defeated the Nashville Nightmare, 7-3, in part because of left fielder Fred Parker. Parker was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Drifters. Rick Rude got credit for the win, improving to 9-3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 6.2 innings. Steve Avery recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 6 for 10.
Early in the game, Parker had a grand slam home run for Dam Site. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Drifters on top, 4-0.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Parker told the Dam Site Chronicle.
With the win, the Drifters hiked their record to 54-39.
