Shamrocks Get Past Motown for 4-3 Win
|
Motown got a terrific performance from pitcher Roger Dorn, but it wasn't enough to beat the Letterkenny Shamrocks. Letterkenny won the The Upper Deck contest, 4-3. Dorn threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Letterkenny reliever Dave Harris picked up the win. Ronald Russell, who is tied for 3rd in the TTWB in saves with 28, took the loss for Motown. The win hiked the Letterkenny record to 55-35.
Chris Arnold had a direct impact on the outcome. Arnold contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the ninth inning to put Letterkenny up, 4-3.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Letterkenny skipper Matt Philpott. "I can't complain."
