The Columbus Red Birds beat the Madrid Jabalies, 7-2, at Ricardo Lopez Field. Columbus designated hitter Ánibal Zúñiga had an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The Red Birds have an impressive 54-29 record.
In the bottom of the fourth, Columbus first baseman Alfredo García had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out, García stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 4-1, Columbus. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
