Behind a solid performance from shortstop Juan Martínez, the Letterkenny Shamrocks defeated the Indianapolis Indians, 13-2. Martínez was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Shamrocks. Jesús Deleón earned the win for Letterkenny. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 7-2. Letterkenny raised its record to 36-32 with the win.
The Shamrocks got a big boost from third baseman Ánibal Vela who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Indians hurler Enrique Méndez. It was his 31st walk of the season and put Letterkenny on top, 1-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Martínez, "and then get after it again."
