Pedro Silva had a hand in Grand Rapids defeating Newcastle by the score of 8-3. Silva went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring 2 times and driving in 1 runs. Luis González, now 3-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Growlers, at 34-35, sit in 6th place in the To The Wall Baseball Patriotic League.

Grand Rapids used a clutch hit from Katsunosuki Miyajima to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Growlers ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Silva told the Grand Rapids Citizen.
