Enrique Méndez, who is tied for 7th in the TTWB with a 11.5 K/9 rate, imposed his will on the Boomsticks from the get-go. Relying mainly on his curveball, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-0 Indianapolis triumph. The 7th-place Indians have won 5 straight.

Méndez picked up the win. He's now 4-4, after putting the Asheville offense in the deep freeze. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 3 hits.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Méndez told the Indianapolis News.
