4-3 Win Gets Great Black Swamp to 27-24
|
The Great Black Swamp Mud Hens beat the Columbus Red Birds, 4-3, in part because of center fielder Jerry Myers. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. After today's action, Great Black Swamp sits at 27-24; Columbus slips to 28-23.
The Mud Hens got a big at-bat from third baseman Tony Souza. For the game, Souza was 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Great Black Swamp a 4-3 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Souza told the Great Black Swamp Bulletin.
