Shamrocks Stymie Ludington, Take 4-1 Win
|
Letterkenny starter Cannonball Jackman put the Ludington offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his changeup in leading the Shamrocks to a 4-1 win. In 5.1 innings, Jackman surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Their 26-24 record puts the Shamrocks 6th in the To The Wall Baseball Nationalist League.
The Shamrocks got a gift in the top of the eighth inning, when they were leading 2-0. With two out and the bases loaded, José Ochoa reached on an error by the left fielder, driving in 2 run3. It made the score 4-0, Letterkenny.
"I like what I saw today," said Letterkenny manager Matt Philpott, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
