Red Birds Use Late Rally to Win
Soggy conditions did not keep Columbus and Letterkenny from playing their scheduled game.

The Letterkenny Shamrocks got a sterling performance from pitcher Mike Logan, but the Columbus Red Birds still prevailed, 7-5. Logan threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner was Santiago Sáenz in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dave Harris took the loss.

Columbus used a timely hit from Ramón Gonzáles to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Birds ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We're playing like we're capable of," said Columbus manager Joe Koralewski.

The second-place Red Birds have won 4 consecutive games.
