Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Nashville Nightmare and Columbus Red Birds.

The Columbus Red Birds got a sterling performance from pitcher Bill McRuer, but the Nashville Nightmare still prevailed, 4-3. McRuer came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters. Nashville reliever John Aylett picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Eugenio Solís was saddled with the loss. Picking up the save was 36-year old right-handed pitcher Kyle McMahon.

Nashville used a timely hit from Yunosuke Tsukamoto to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nightmare ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Tsukamoto, "one at-bat at a time."

The Nightmare improved their record to 19-27 with the win over Columbus.
