Boomsticks Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Asheville turned a good effort from starting pitcher Wing Zhang into a win over the Dam Site Drifters at Smasheville. The final score was 3-2 in 10 innings. The win went to Kyle Farnsworth in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Steve Avery took the loss. Dam Site's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Asheville got a knockout punch from Carlos Pérez. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Wing knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Asheville manager Jon Papp.
