Downs Win, 7-6, at Ypsi

The Phoenix Downs had to overcome a big game from Ypsi center fielder Malaki Lahahana to leave The Animal Shelter with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6. Lahahana was 4-5 with 3 triples. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Arthur Brown picked up the save for Phoenix, his 3rd of the year. At 23-22, the Downs claim 4th place in the To The Wall Baseball Patriotic League.
Phoenix needed the clutch hitting of Kunimatsu Kan to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Downs on top, 7-5. For the game, Kan had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was our day today," Kan told the Phoenix Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
