Yard Cats Turn Away Indians, 6-5
|
The Animal Shelter was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Ypsi Yard Cats and Indianapolis Indians.
Bill González did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Indianapolis Indians from being beaten, 6-5, to the Ypsi Yard Cats at The Animal Shelter. González went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ypsi pitcher Sean Bigelow got the win, upping his record to 2-3. Ernest Nance got the loss. Aydan Farmer finished to wrap up his 11th save.
In the bottom of the sixth, Ypsi catcher Xiao-gang Jong had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Jong stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 6-3, Ypsi. For the game, he was 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.
In postgame comments to the Ypsi Gazette, Jong said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Ypsi has 3 straight wins, Indianapolis 3 straight losses.
