Motown Beats Wildwood, Goes to 28-15
|
In a well-pitched game between the Motown Hitmakers and the Wildwood Fishers, pitcher Woodrow Preston was superb. The Motown right-hander helped his team win, 3-1. Picking up the save was 13-year veteran Ronald Russell. The second-place Hitmakers hiked their record to 28-15.
Bill Correa drove in one run for Motown. The 33-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Félix Soto. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"Watch and learn," said Correa. "This is what good pitching looks like."
