|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Freddie Jones, the Wicker Park Devil Cats defeated the Newcastle House of Brews, 6-2. Jones went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Devil Cats. Wicker Park is now 24-19, 2 games up in the To The Wall Baseball Patriotic League.
Wicker Park grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Jones hit a 3-run home run off Gary Walls. His 10th home run of the season put the Devil Cats out in front, 5-2.
"No time for flexing," said Jones. "It's always one game at a time."
