Great Black Swamp third baseman Tony Souza had a big day at Brewhouse against the Newcastle House of Brews. The 37-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-7 and led to the 23-3 Mud Hens triumph over Newcastle.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Souza said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Tony Souza singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

Currently Souza is batting .326 with 30 hits and 3 home runs. He has knocked in 12 runs and scored 12 times.
